The Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand in conjunction with Biosis Research invites you to a seminar on Victoria’s Native Vegetation Management – a Framework for Action (Net Gain policy).

Victoria’s Net Gain policy has been in effect since 2002, with the primary goal of achieving a reversal of the decline in the extent and quality of native vegetation, leading to a net gain. This policy introduced a systematic methodology for assessment and implementation, which often surprised proponents in its complexity, costs and timeframes. This seminar will explore where this policy evolved from, consider industry case studies and look at the practical implications of complying with Net Gain policy. Given the state government is currently reviewing this policy there will also be a discussion of potential changes and improvements for the Net Gain policy.

Speakers include:

  • Russell Costello – Formerly with the Dept of Sustainability & Environment
  • Alexandra Guild – Senior Associate, Norton Rose
  • Aaron Harvey – Director Consulting Services, Biosis Research
  • Rob Taber, CEO Villawood Properties

A panel session will follow to allow for questions and discussion.
