Welcome to this week's Institute Insider
In environment news, US President Joe Biden will be hosting the Leaders Summit on Climate next week, which has renewed media attention on the Morrison government’s inadequate response to the climate crisis. Reports published this week in both Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand have also raised concerns around both countries meeting their Paris Agreement targets.
At the Institute this week, we have commenced work on a program for members and CEnvPs to build their capacity around Indigenous knowledge, values and rights. We are currently seeking input from Indigenous collaborators and experts to help develop this program – further information can be found below.
In event news, our Organised Reasoning workshops run by Dr Glenn Brown have been a great success this year with all current sessions fully booked. If you are still interested in attending this workshop we are planning another one for late July. Keep an eye on our events page and future editions of the Institute Insider for details.
Stay safe, stay connected.

Seeking Indigenous collaborators and experts
One outcome from the workshops to discuss proposed changes to the EIANZ Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, was the need for further training around Indigenous knowledge, values, and rights. The Institute is working on a professional development program to address this and we seek your assistance.
If you or someone you know has experience in Indigenous land/water management, working with Indigenous communities, or is an Indigenous knowledge practitioner in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand we’d love to hear from you.
Please contact Nicole Brown, Executive Officer (nicole@eianz.org).
