The EIANZ joins the Professional Bodies Climate Action Charter (PBCAC)

On behalf of the EIANZ Board, I am happy to announce the Institute’s official support of the Professional Bodies Climate Action Charter (PBCAC).

About the PBCAC

The PBCAC is a UK-based global initiative that “aims to leverage greater collective ambition” and support members to prioritise the Paris Agreement and UN Sustainable Development Goals in their work. Through collaboration and resource sharing, the PBCAC aims to chart the path to sustainability, speak with a unified voice, and empower and inspire members to drive sustainable growth. It is anticipated that Australian and New Zealand signatories and supporters to the charter will operate as a local chapter – connecting to the global charter and acting locally.

E3G, with support of the signatories to the PBCAC, will be presenting The Future of Professional Bodies in a Net Zero World: Charter for Climate Action on Thursday 4 November at COP26 in Glasgow. This livestreamed panel event will discuss the role of the PBCAC and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration on climate change mitigation and sustainable development.

The event will take place at 11am (GMT) / 10pm (AEDT) / 12am (NZDT). The event will also be made available on the E3G YouTube channel to view afterwards.

We look forward to working with other like-minded professional associations to provide leadership on the transformations needed across disciplines to transition to a net zero greenhouse gas emission economy.
