• Starting Salary from $129,748 + super
• Parramatta CBD – please note this talent pool can be used by our regionally located offices also

 

The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment is looking to engage experienced Managers to lead some of NSW Government’s assessment of high profile built-form infrastructure, resources, mining, extractive industry proposals, manufacturing and industrial sites, major projects and State Significant Developments. Our teams deliver appropriate environmental, social and economic outcomes for the people of NSW. 


About You

The Team Leader coordinates and leads the whole-of-government assessment of complex SSD projects, manages a range of post approval matters and drives the implementation of best practice and innovative solutions to meet Government policy objectives. 


This leadership role is situated in a high profile and dynamic sector and requires an experienced and passionate leader, who is able to collaborate with a range of stakeholders and oversee the assessment of some of the State’s most complex and contentious proposals and State Significant Developments. 

You will be a key contributor and  independently manage, develop and direct assessment teams to deliver robust and timely assessments of State significant developments. Your day to day will involve negotiating outcomes and solving problems in a dynamic and complex environment involving competing priorities and conflicting stakeholder’s needs, views and opinions.You will provide senior managers with technical advice and briefings on projects, as well as translating complex technical information into easy to understand plain English reports and communications.

You will have substantial experience in leading or overseeing project teams in the production of high-quality work related to environmental assessment or planning matters and demonstrate a thorough understanding of applicable legislation, regulatory and policy frameworks.

 

Essential Requirements

• Degree in planning, environmental management, engineering or other relevant discipline
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant environmental assessment and planning legislation and processes
• Willingness to travel and (minimum) Class C Driver’s License.
