The Opportunity & Role

We have an exciting temporary opportunity for a Team Leader to join the Department of Planning and Environment’s Compliance Team in the Metro region. The role will report to both the Director Compliance - Operations and Director Compliance -  Investigations.

The Team Leader – Compliance - Metro leads a team of specialists in the monitoring and enforcement of approval conditions, environmental management plans and relevant legislation as they relate to state significant development projects.

The Candidate:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead the Metro team’s implementation of the broader Compliance Team’s business plan commitments including:

  • resolution of complaints
  • investigations into alleged non compliance
  • proactive inspections of facilities
  • review of compliance related documents
  • strategic compliance activities
  • mentoring and upskilling of team members and
  • contributing to the Compliance teams overall strategic direction

Essential requirements

  • Degree in law, planning, environmental management, engineering or other relevant discipline
  • Detailed knowledge of legislation and policies governing land use planning or environmental impact assessment
  • Strong ability to work to tight and / or shifting deadlines

Targeted Questions
