With increasing demands on our regionally focused primary industry clients’ we are seeking an experienced environmental scientist to join our planning and environmental science team as a technical specialist in either the water quality and/or soil science space.

The Role:
This role will be primarily focused on regional science and planning work within the rural sector so an awareness of rural NZ would be useful, but not essential. A special interest in water science and/or soil science would also be an advantage. If you enjoy working with clients, managing projects from start to finish, and having a mix of time out in the field with clients and office-based work, this is the job for you!

Criteria:

  • A passion for, or experience across one of the following: primary production, water science and soil science
  • A tertiary qualification in science (environmental or Ag/Hort along with at least 8 years’ industry experience
  • An excellent understanding of resource management legislation and regional and district council consent processes.
  • Experience in presenting evidence at hearings would be beneficial.
  • Can work independently, solve problems on the fly and work collaboratively in a team.
