Senior Environmental Consultant – Contaminated Land

  • Melbourne CBD fringe with projects throughout Australia
  • Report directly to the Managing Principal
  • Flexible working arrangements (full time, part time, WFH)

 

The Role

Our team comprises a group of enthusiastic engaged professionals and is looking for a like-minded collaborative individual to join the team. With a busy portfolio of projects, we are looking to appoint a Senior Environmental Consultant with 6 plus years of experience in contaminated sites to report directly to the Managing Principal. 

The role would suit someone who wants to apply their people management skills and project experience across a range of projects, which are evenly spread across industrial facilities, land development, local government and downstream petroleum.  Ideally you want to contribute to the continued growth and culture of the business with your own network of industry contacts.  In return you will be rewarded with an attractive salary package according to your skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Manage environmental assessments including Preliminary and Detailed Site Investigations, remediation planning, landfill gas risk assessment, investigation of soil, vapour and groundwater quality
  • Work closely with clients and contractors to address challenging contamination issues
  • Manage the overall delivery of projects on or ahead of schedule, including actively directing project staff to manage schedule, costs, revenue, risks and variations
  • Provide an experienced level of technical report writing and provide senior review of junior staff’s report writing
  • Provide senior mentoring, training and transfer of knowledge to staff
  • Provide contribution to proposals, panel submissions and develop/expand client relationships
  • Ensure ARC Environmental’s health and safety culture is upheld

About You

You are an enthusiastic individual with a commitment to both individual and team continued professional development. Ideally, you are a forward-thinking individual with strong technical foundations.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications/experience: 

  • Have a degree in environmental engineering or science
  • Have a minimum of 6 years relevant working experience in an environmental consulting or industry role
  • Be an excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with the ability to work cohesively within a team environment
  • Have a firm understanding of current industry regulations, guidelines and trends related to contaminated land management and environmental risks
  • Have developed a network of contacts across clients, regulators, suppliers and other consultants
