Due to our company’s continued and sustained growth we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic Graduate Ecologist to join our team and learn from dynamic and highly respected environmental professionals in our Brisbane office.

About the Role

This role will primarily involve providing ecological and environmental support and services to the Brisbane office with tasks including field work, contributing towards report writing, proposal preparation and other general activities as directed. 

In this role you will:

  • Contribute to projects in the fields of ecological assessment, environmental impact assessment, vegetation management, biobanking, environmental monitoring, planning and conservation assessment
  • Learn from the best in multidisciplinary project management and delivery
  • Gain on-the-job training and mentoring from experienced and respected environmental professionals
  • Work with other scientists across the company and with current and prospective clients, government and regulatory authorities.

 

You will meet the following essential criteria:

  • You are passionate about the environment (provide a 300 word summary on why you are passionate about the environment and leading with science)
  • A degree in Environmental Science or related discipline
  • Experience in ecology and flora surveys
  • Sound communication and scientific writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Can-do attitude and self-starter initiative with good time management skills
  • An awareness of relevant Queensland and Commonwealth legislation
  • A baseline level of physical fitness and agility that will enable your participation in field work in a variety of climates and terrains
  • Current driver’s licence and demonstrated safe driving record
  • A sound working knowledge and practical experience using MS Office products
  • Australian residency or citizenship.

Desirable skills include:

  • Honours
  • GIS (ArcGIS) skills or demonstrated spatial data analysis and application in ecology.
  • Senior First Aid
  • White Card
