The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Environmental Engineer to join the Queensland Water and Environment Group.

It is a fantastic time to join the KBR team as we continue to develop a strong pipeline of diverse, interesting future work for a range of clients and assist in delivery of impactful projects across the country.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide input into environmental engineering assessments, impact assessments, mine and asset closure planning, environmental management plans and other studies and designs
  • Provide technical and field task input in environmental disciplines including soil, surface water, groundwater, sediments and water quality in both terrestrial and marine environments
  • Assist with environmental engineering designs in the areas of mining, earthworks, solid waste management, water balance design, irrigation and stormwater treatment designs
  • Provide environmental input, advice and expertise on studies and engineering projects
  • Produce high quality professional deliverables
  • Develop environmental solutions in collaboration with other internal/external professionals
  • Work cooperatively with a wide range of technical specialists and project managers
  • Contribute to proposals and securing new work

Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in environmental engineering or other relevant qualification.
  • A minimum of 5 - 7 years’ experience in Engineering (Environmental)
  • Achievement of Queensland RPEQ (Environmental / Civil) or progress towards this considered favorably
  • Proven capability in professional technical writing in a consulting environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A team player with a positive attitude
  • Willingness to travel to carryout field assessments in remote areas
  • Manual car license is required and boat license/experience considered favorably.
