The Role

Our team comprises a group of enthusiastic engaged professionals and is looking for a like-minded collaborative individual to join the team. With a busy portfolio of projects we are looking to appoint an Environmental Engineer/Scientist with 1-3 years of experience.

The role would suit someone who wants to continue their professional development under the guidance of experienced professionals and have increased responsibility working across all facets of projects including project management.  You will have the opportunity to work on due diligence assessments, investigations for Environmental Audits, EPA Clean-up Notices and industrial facility compliance.  Ideally you want to contribute to the continued growth and culture of the business.  In return you will be rewarded with an attractive salary package according to your skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Ensure ARC Environmental’s health and safety culture is upheld
  • Assist in the delivery of environmental assessments including Preliminary and Detailed Site Investigations, remediation planning, environmental aspects identification and/or risk assessment, investigation of soil and groundwater quality
  • Undertake site works including soil, groundwater and vapour sampling, and facility inspections
  • Work closely with contractors to successfully deliver our projects
  • Contribute to the management of projects on or ahead of time, including actively working with project staff to manage schedule, costs, revenue, risks and variations
  • Provide contributions to technical report writing
  • A willingness to receive mentoring, training and transfer of knowledge from senior staff
  • A willingness to develop a network of contacts across clients, regulators, suppliers and other consultants
  • Provide contribution to proposals and develop/expand client relationships

About You

You are an enthusiastic individual with a commitment to both individual and team continued professional development. Ideally, you are a forward-thinking individual with good technical foundations.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications/experience: 

  • Be an excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with the ability to work cohesively within a team environment
  • Have good time management skills and the ability to multi-task and work autonomously as required
  • Have a degree in environmental engineering or science
  • Have a minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience in an environmental consulting or industry role, preferably on contaminated land projects
  • Have practical experience in sampling and analysis planning, field investigation of soil, groundwater and vapour, and managing data
  • Have an understanding of current industry regulations, guidelines and trends related to contaminated land management and environmental risks
  • Have a valid drivers license
  • Have a willingness to travel in regional Victoria and interstate, as required
