North East Link Project is Victoria's largest ever infrastructure project, helping to change the way we travel across Victoria. We are seeking an experienced Environment Advisor who is looking for the chance to work among a dynamic, supportive, friendly team, with a clear and inspirational vision to deliver tangible outcomes for all Victorians.
The Environment Advisor (Central) is a critical team member, responsible for the provision of specialist environmental advice and assistance in the management of project approvals. Working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary project team through delivery of North East Link Project's Primary Package (PP), this role will see you involved in the resolution of environmental issues and providing advice on complex approval conditions and requirements to project teams, senior management, contractors and other stakeholders.
Reporting to the Senior Environment Specialist, this role proactively reviews works and documentation and advises the business on potential risks and opportunities throughout the approvals and compliance processes as well as conducting site inspections and participating in contractor audits. This role will be located primarily within the Delivery team, whilst also reporting to and working closely with the Land, Planning and Environment team as part of a matrix structure.
Key to your satisfaction and success in the role will be your extensive work history in managing environmental risks and approvals for a large-scale project, a proactive, solutions oriented and accountable attitude and sound influencing and negotiating skills that achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Having a solid understanding of the environment aspects relating to the Project will hold you in good stead and enable you to navigate the relevant environmental, planning and approvals legislation and requirements that NEL operates in accordance with. As part of a close knit, committed team you will be fully supported whilst being empowered to operate autonomously and have a close connection to range of subject matter experts without foregoing the social elements, essential for a balanced working life.
