The Tasmanian Division of EIANZ invites you to a webinar on the implications of the recent decision of Tarkine National Coalition Incorporated v Director, EPA (2023) TASSC 3. What should environmental professionals be aware of? This webinar is open to everyone to attend but it is jurisdictionally specific to Tasmania.

The Tarkine National Coalition Incorporated v Director, Environment Protection Authority provides guidance on:
What constitutes ‘substantial commencement’ in accordance with the provisions of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993 with regard to when a planning permit will lapse;
When an Environment Protection Notice can be lawfully issued to amend a planning permit in accordance with the Environmental Management and Pollution Control Act 1994.

Sarah is a Special Counsel in the environment and planning team at Page Seager lawyers. Sarah works with public and private sector clients advising on the Tasmanian environment and planning legal framework with a particular focus on compliance with State and Federal environmental laws
