TAS - Bike Week 2017

Bike Week provides an opportunity to actively promote cycling for its health, environmental and social benefits as well as encourage a more positive attitude towards cyclists on the part of the other road users.

T-BUG's major event is a public forum entitled "We're in this together: making roads safer for all users". This event will be held on Thursday 9 March from 7:00pm at the Launceston Town Hall.

The keynote speaker will be Professor Paul Salmon from the University of the Sunshine Coast. He will present findings from 15 years of research into the interactions between cyclists and other road users as well as the impact of road design on road user behaviour and safety. Paul will also discuss situation awareness and perception and how factors such as inattention that lead to injury and crashes can be tackled.
