From October 2021, all new state significant projects will need to prepare a social impact assessment. The new Social Impact Assessment Guideline provides a framework to identify, predict and evaluate likely social impacts and propose responses to them.
This DPIE briefing session will present the guideline and provide an opportunity for you to ask questions.
Jennifer Richardson leads a team dedicated to policy and practice changes to improve the performance of the planning system, including the Social Impact Assessment Guideline.
Dr Richard Parsons is the department’s specialist in social impact assessment (SIA). He provides advice to assessment and policy teams on the social impacts of major projects and supports the development of improved practice.
