New Date - Wednesday 23 August 2017 |
Time: |
6pm to 8.30pm. Event follows the SEQ Division Annual General Meeting ( Includes networking) |
Join us for a practical session on how to record science with clarity and impact.
This forum is a practical session on communication skills - how to write clear science and endeavour to have science understood and accepted. Hear how the experts write and present summaries of science based studies/work to stakeholders, project teams and clients in a way that is concise, accurate and easy to understand by all, including those with no technical background.Learn techniques to endeavour to have science understood and accepted in this “post-truth” world.
As this topic is an increasing challenge faced by all environmental practitioners, the SEQ Division of the EIANZ is making its upcoming professional development event “Presenting Science in a Post-Truth World” a free event for all EIANZ members.
This event is being held on 23 August 2017, following the SEQ Division Annual General Meeting. These two high calibre speakers will be providing their specialist insights on communication techniques in order to extract key messages from comprehensive scientific evidence as well as practical skills about the process and craft of distilling and amplifying written content. We hope that the members take up this invitation, not only because of the valuable insights on offer, but also as a sign of support for the SEQ Division giving back to its members. Members are encouraged to attend from 5.30pm for the Annual General Meeting.
Non-members are welcome to attend the event for $90 per person.
