Identifying plants in the field – Basic skills to be able to identify the major plant families whilst working out in the field

Landscape, Assessment, Management and Rehabilitation (LAMR) Principal, Dr Mike Olsen is one of the most experienced field botanists in private industry. Mike has used his extensive field knowledge to offer field-based workshops to share his passion with other like-minded people of all backgrounds.

These courses are unique as they emphasize the development of field knowledge and skills rather than purely technical learning. Learn about plant identification from plant keys and field characters.

The plant identification workshop will look at:

  1. The 10 Major Australian Plant Families; and,
  2. Familiarisation with plant keys and field identification skills.

Who should attend: Students, recent graduates, early career professionals, anyone that has an interest in flora identification

Attendees need to bring their own lunch and water.

Cancellation Policy

Full refunds will be given for any cancellations made one week prior to the event. Cancellations made less than one week but more than 24 hours prior to the event will attract a 50% penalty. Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the event will attract the full 100% attendance fee. Delegates unable to attend are welcome to send an alternative delegate.
