NZ | Auckland | National policy statement for indigenous biodiversity

The Auckland branch of the NZ Chapter of EIANZ invites you to join a panel discussion on the National policy statement of Indigenous biodiversity to maintain, protect and restore our indigenous biodiversity into the future.

We will set out the broad proposed purpose and content of the draft NPSIB, and a panel of experts will lead a discussion on what these reforms will provide, what is helpful, and where they can be improved. The discussion will focus on what will likely work well in practice, and where improvement can be made that will assist current and future practice in biodiversity management. There will then be an open floor discussion on key implications for practitioners and any concerns around likely outcomes. The discussion will help inform an EIANZ submission on the draft document.

Meet the speakers:

The deadline for submissions is 14 March 2020. This event will feature a panel of prominent ecologists and planners to outline issues and changes needed to draft the NPS. More details will be emailed in the new year.
