The Government have set out their agenda for improving water quality in NZ. We will set out the broad proposed purpose and content of the draft NPS and NES FM, and a panel of experts will lead a discussion on what these reforms will provide, what is helpful, and where they can be improved. The discussion will focus on what will likely work well in practice, and where improvement can be made that will assist current and future practice in freshwater management. There will then be an open floor discussion on key implications for practitioners and any concerns around likely outcomes. The discussion will inform an EIANZ submission on the proposals.
