The former Rum Jungle uranium mine site continues to impact on the downstream water quality of the East Branch of the Finniss River and the Kungarakan and Warai peoples – the Traditional Owners of the land. To address this the Northern Territory Government, via the Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade (DITT) proposes to rehabilitate the site.
An EIS for the rehabilitation project was submitted earlier this year. Jackie Hartnett from DITT, will give us an update on the approvals status and what rehabilitation activities are proposed to address the site’s legacy.
This event will run off Australian Central Standard Time.
