Ecology | Special forum on using dogs to help with wildlife conservation

The Ecology Special Interest Section of the EIANZ is convening a one-day forum featuring a series of special presentations regarding the use of dogs to help with wildlife conservation. The presentations will cover a wide range of aspects including:

  • Training dogs for problem solving
  • The effectiveness of detection dogs
  • Detection dog team selection
  • Zoo Victoria’s detection dog program
  • Maintaining a conservation detection dog
  • Sniffer dogs and construction projects
  • Using detection dogs to assess impacts on koalas
  • Using canine detection to find mysterious frogs
  • The ability of dogs to detect low density populations of koalas

Environmental professionals who attend this event can record 1 points per hour of continuing professional development under the Certified Environmental Practitioner Scheme.
