Join the Auckland Branch of EIANZ as they present a session on Outcomes-based management for sustainable outcomes: moving beyond effects-based management.
The RMA is "effects-based" and concentrates on the environmental effects of activities rather than the activities themselves. Some believe this has led to incremental increases in adverse effects. The concept of sustainable development was in its infancy in the late 1980's when the RMA was developed and since that time has evolved greatly. There has been a shift by many governments in strategy preparation to meet multiple community outcomes. This presentation discusses these issues and puts forward an outcome-based management approach to deliver sustainable development.
This will be a very informative session and we hope to see many of you there.
