Parliamentary Cultural Heritage Enquiry
The Victorian parliamentary Environment and Natural Resources Committee, a Joint Investigative Committee
of the Victorian Parliament, will be presenting a report on "the establishment and effectiveness of
Registered Aboriginal Parties" to the Victorian Parliament by 28 September 2012.
Victorian Division President Elizabeth Hurst met with the ENRC to discuss the enquiry.

Landfill Gas Fugitive Emissions Monitoring Guideline
EPA is accepting submissions on the Draft Landfill Gas Fugitive Emissions Monitoring Guideline up to COB
28 October 2011. This is a week away so not much time.

Clean Energy Legislative Package
The Clean Energy legislative package was passed through the House of Representatives on 12 October 2011. The 19 Bills,
which comprise the Clean Energy legislation and the Steel Transformation Plan Bill, will put a price on carbon
pollution, promote investment in renewable and clean energy technologies and support action to reduce carbon
pollution on the land.
The Commonwealth Government says that the package allows Australia to take advantage of the economic
and job opportunities that will come as the world tackles climate change and shifts to a clean energy
future.

Have your say - Cost recovery under national environment law
The Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities is seeking public comment on
potential cost recovery mechanisms under national environment law-the Environment Protection and Biodiversity
Conservation Act 1999.
The department has released a consultation paper outlining options for recovering the costs of national environment
law regulatory activities and reform for a six-week consultation period closing on 31 October 2011.
