What’s new in Climate Change training and education?

EIANZ has been running has and just completed a 3 year program of Climate Skills training. It was funded by the Australian Government Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency and in partnership with Climate Change, Coasts and Catchments at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Resources for use by practitioners and by EIANZ's Divisions to deliver forums to practitioners are still available as described below. Please use them.

These resources introduce practitioners to planned adaptation and mitigation responses to projected impacts of climate change. They also offer a doorway into the rapidly evolving fields of knowledge that are emerging as we seek to reduce vulnerability to climate change and adapt our systems to cope with the challenges of Climate Change. In summary, resources are:

EIANZ Division Climate Change Skills Training manual – A comprehensive guide for Divisions to plan and present a Climate Change forum that uses engagement, presentations and workshop scoping. It aims to identify training, tools and techniques that practitioners will require. The manual's Appendices, of which there are currently 28, are updated and revised regularly and are available from the EIANZ Operations Manager at office@eianz.org.

An account of recent and future forums may be found in Schedule of Forums.
