Submission Environmental Effects Statement Process
The Victorian EIANZ is going places! The Victorian Parliament has personally invited members of the EIANZ (that's YOU!) to make a submission as part of the government's inquiry into the Environmental Effects Statement (EES) Process.
As an environmental professional and an informed member of the public, your views on the EES process are of great interest to Government. Recognising your various expertise in this area I would be delighted if you would help represent the EIANZ in this capacity. Regardless of whether or not you have had direct involvement in preparing an EES, I believe that we, as EIANZ members, have valuable opinions to share.
The EIANZ will, by special invitation, be presenting a submission to Victoria's Environment and Natural Resources Committee (ENRC) at a Parliamentary Hearing on 3 May 2010. I intend to pull information for this submission from two sources:
* Comments and views from other expert witnesses and environmental professionals leading in this area
* Results of the EIANZ member survey on EES
The EIANZ member survey on EES has been prepared by the EIANZ and the ENRC, and consists of a 5 minute on-line survey which you can access at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5W3MVVD
I strongly encourage you to have your say over this process, if only to complete the online survey. If you wish to make a more detailed submission, or wish to join our group of expert witnesses in pulling together a submission, please contact me on ehurst@pb.com.au. The submission period has been extended till the end of April to accommodate additional feedback. Further information can be obtained by contacting www.parliament.vic.gov.au/enrc.
Kind regards,
Elizabeth Hurst - Vic President, EIANZ
