EIANZ Annual Conference 2013

Published 27th March 13 12:00 AM

The EIANZ Conference in 2013 will be held in Melbourne across 23 and 24 October. Your Conference Committee for this year has proposed that this year’s conference theme be:

Adapt – What are the big issues and how should we be adapting to them? How do we apply good science and data to adapt our approaches to environmental management to deliver better outcomes?

Innovate – How are the big issues being tackled? By whom? How is science being applied in human motivation fields, social and behavioural science? What are the big institutional changes that can be made? What innovations are leading our thinking on responding to change in our environment?

Advocate – How do we and should we (as an institute and environmental professionals) give voice to our perspective and shape the debate? What relationships does EIANZ need to build to strengthen our messages?

The event will begin with welcome drinks on the evening of Tuesday 22 October. The conference itself begins on Wednesday 23 October and will comprise key note addresses and workshop sessions over the two days. The EIANZ Annual Gala Dinner and Merit Award Presentation will take place from 7.00pm at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The conference program development is well underway and we will keep you informed as we progress. As previously advised the Call for Papers is now open and we are experiencing keen interest from members wanting to provide papers and sessions. The Call for Papers document can be downloaded here.

We are very excited about our conference this year and we look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne in October.
