As the EPA embarks on the development of its 2016-19 Strategic Plan, Dr Hatton will canvass some of the challenges ahead for environmental protection and assessment. This is set against an external environment that has changed substantially in the past 3 years - the rate of development proposals has slowed, public interest in the assessment and appeals processes has increased, debates over protecting the environment have become more polarised and state and federal approval processes are subject to increased legal challenge.
Feedback and ideas from this seminar from this seminar will help to inform the EPA's thinking and emerging priorities for the coming years.
