The STEPS Program is the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand's training program for early career practitioners.

Presented by Kerry Petty, this module will build on skills in public consultation and engagement which are a commonly underdeveloped skill area.

In this interactive course participants will:

• Explore the theory and principles behind why public participation in decision
• making is important
• Practice a range of simple engagement tools you can use with your community
• Identify and analyse stakeholders
• Write a consultation plan
• Examine tips and traps.
