Presentation to EES Parliamentary enquiry

Elizabeth Hurst and David Hyett made presentations to the ENRC Parliamentary Enquiry into the EES process on behalf of the EIANZ on Monday 18th July 2011. A one page summary of key issues raised by the EIANZ is provided in the following attachment. A fully copy of the EIANZ submission and the recent Update letter can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

Expert contributions sought: Australian Environment Review

The Australian Environment Review is currently seeking expert contributors to the Review and have invited EIANZ members to consider assisting. DPCD Contaminated Land Auditing Process submission

The Department of Planning and Community Development in Victoria are undertaking a review of planning process as they relate to the environmental auditing of contaminated land.

EIANZ President Liz Hurst and colleague Michael Main were invited by representatives of DPCD (Planning Panels Victoria) to discuss the planning implications of developing contaminated land sites for developers, regulators and the public. DPCD have completed the initial phase of consultation.

We look forward to the release of a discussion paper due to be released in August 2011.

Melbourne Transport Strategy submission

The Victorian Committee, in consultation with members, has made a submission to the Melbourne Transport Strategy consultation being run by the City of Melbourne. You can request a copy of this submission by emailing vic-events@eianz.org.

SEP Action Plan

As part of tour ongoing efforts to assist students and those new to the environment profession in preparing for employment and excelling in a new role, the Vic Students and Early Professionals Sub-committee has developed an Action Plan designed to create strong ties with universities and employers, and equip students and early professionals with the skills and knowledge they need to excell.
