EIANZ (Vic)’s Practical Skills Training for Climate Change Workshop at ENVIRO2010

Have you heard a lot about climate change but are not sure how to tackle it?
Are you looking to gain skills to help you to effectively understand and manage climate change impacts relating to your business, clients or local area?
The EIANZ is running a practical skills training for climate change as part of the ENVIRO2010 Conference.
How could the Practical Skills Training for Climate Change Workshop help me?
The session aims to provide environmental professionals with a broad grounding in climate change issues. The workshop will focus on providing attendees with practical skills to help them to respond effectively to climate change, with a particular focus on climate change adaptation.
The session will be presented by knowledgeable professionals from industry, consultancy, government and academia, each with a proven track record in implementing successful, practical strategies and actions to help businesses succeed.
The program for the Workshop will include sessions on:
- A panel discussion about climate change adaptation issues across different sectors
- Regulatory and policy context for climate change adaptation
- Conducting climate change risk assessment and preparing risk management strategies

Who is the session for?
The event is targeted at environmental professionals and those working in SMEs or other businesses who would like to gain a broad understanding of climate change issues, with a focus on climate change adaptation. The aim of the event is to provide for practical skills development. The session is part of a national climate change skills program being run by EIANZ, which is partly funded through the Federal Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency (DCCEE) through its ‘Climate Change Adaptation Skills for Professionals Program’.
Bookings
The Workshop may be booked as part of a registration package for the ENVIRO2010 Conference registration package, or as a single day package only.
Admission to the single day Workshop will also include admission to the Plenary Session and Welcome Reception for the ENVIRO2010 Conference (which follow the Workshop).
