June 2007 - Green is the new Black - the fashion of Corporate Sustainability
Corporate sustainability encompasses strategies and practices that aim to meet the needs of stakeholders today while seeking to protect, support and enhance the human and natural resources that will be needed in the future.
Business and industry has a crucial role to play in helping Australia to become more sustainable and competitive. As a result, many Australian organisations and industries are responding by reducing their environmental impacts and risks through improved environmental management practices and efficient use of natural resources. Our speakers will give an insight into why Corporate Sustainability is important to practice and not just preach.
ENERGEX is one such organisation that will undertake a critical assessment of their corporate sustainability in the next 12 months to ensure they continue to meet the expectations of the community into the future. ENERGEX is an original member of the Greenhouse Challenge and has highlighted for many years the benefits of green energy, energy efficiency measures demand management, tree planting and carbon offset programs and the benefits of solar panels and photovoltaic systems.
