Rules of Association

The Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand was incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 1981. The Institute is governed by it's Rules of Association as required under the Act.

The Rules of Association provide the basis for the following:

1. The qualifications for membership of the Institute;

2. The register of members of the Institute;

3. The membership or subscription fees of the Institute;

4. The name, constitution, membership and powers of the Executive and Council of the Institute;

5. The quorum and procedure at general meetings of members of the Institute and the proxy voting rights of members of the Institute;

6. The time within which and manner in which, noticies of general meetings and notices of motion are to be given, published or circulated;

7. The sources from whichthe funds of the Institute are to be or may be derived;

8. The manner in which the funds of the Institute are to be managed and the mode of drawing cheques on behalf of the Institute;

9. The intervals between general meetings of members of the Institute and the manner of calling general meetings;

10. The manner of altering the Statement of Purpose of the Institute;

11. The manner of altering and rescinding the rules and of making additional rules of association

12. Provisions for the use of the common seal of the Institute;

13. The custody of books, documents and securities of the Institute;

14. The inspection by members of Institute ofbooks and documents of the Institute;

15. The disposition of any surplus assets on the winding up or the dissolutions of the Institute;

16. The procedure for the disciplining of members for any breach of the Code of Ethics of the Institute.
